Voyager 1: An Example of Biblical Prophecy Fulfilled

The following article was published on Dagens.com and written by Asger Risom in November 2025.

NASA confirms Voyager spacecraft has encountered a "wall of fire" at the edge of the Solar System

After nearly half a century of traveling through space, NASA’s Voyager mission has made another astonishing discovery — one that could redefine where our Solar System truly ends.

Reaching the unknown

Voyager 1, launched 47 years ago, continues to send back data from farther away than any other human-made object. The spacecraft’s long journey has allowed scientists to glimpse regions of space no probe has ever reached before, offering new insight into the outermost layers of the Solar System.

According to NASA, Voyager 1 has now encountered what researchers describe as a “wall of fire,” a zone where temperatures reach between 30,000 and 50,000 kelvin — roughly 30,000 degrees Celsius. The finding was made as part of ongoing efforts to understand the boundary separating our Solar System from interstellar space.

The edge of the Solar System

Scientists have long debated where the Solar System actually ends. Some define it by the limits of the planets’ orbits; others, by the reach of the Sun’s gravitational and magnetic influence. The most accepted boundary is the heliopause — the outer edge of the heliosphere, the vast bubble created by the Sun’s constant stream of charged particles, known as the solar wind.

“The Sun emits a constant stream of charged particles called the solar wind, which eventually travels past all the planets to a distance three times greater than that of Pluto before being stopped by the interstellar medium,” NASA explains. “This forms a giant bubble around the Sun and its planets, known as the heliosphere.”

The heliopause, then, is the frontier where the solar wind’s strength fades and the interstellar medium begins. Both Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 have now crossed this line, making them the only spacecraft ever to venture into true interstellar space.

Aligned magnetic fields

One of the most striking findings from this mission concerns the alignment of magnetic fields beyond the Solar System’s edge. NASA said that Voyager 2’s measurements confirm what Voyager 1 had detected years earlier — that the magnetic field just outside the heliopause runs parallel to the field inside the heliosphere.

“An observation made by Voyager 2 confirms a surprising result from Voyager 1: the magnetic field in the region just beyond the heliopause is parallel to the magnetic field inside the heliosphere,” NASA noted. With data from both spacecraft, scientists can now confirm that this alignment is not a coincidence but a defining characteristic of the boundary region.

NASA's Voyager 1 Probe Will Reach One "Light Day" From Earth Next Year

NASA’s Voyager 1 space probe will continue its almost half-century of service by delivering yet another milestone: by this time next year, it should have reached a distance of 1 light-day from Earth.

Based on the most recent estimates, the revolutionary Voyager 1 space probe is expected to achieve the feat on November 15, 2026, continuing its reign as the farthest-travelled human-made object. After flying by Jupiter, Saturn, and Titan, the spacecraft continued its journey into interstellar space.

The Speed of Light

Based on present-day physics, scientists know the speed of light is the greatest speed at which anything in our universe can travel. That astronomical rate is clocked at 186,000 miles per second. Due to the immense distances separating points in outer space, scientists have adopted the distance light travels in one year, 5.88 trillion miles, as a universal measurement scale.

Proxima Centauri is the star nearest to our own, even though that cosmic neighbor is 4.2 light-years away from Earth. Over four years of light-speed travel would be required to cross such a distance.

For shorter distances in space, scientists rely on astronomical units, which are equal to the distance between Earth and the Sun. Although humanity has yet to conquer light-speed travel, Voyager 1 still manages to zip along at the relatively quick 11 miles per second. This adds up to 3.5 AU each year as the craft continues its journey.

Communications Challenges

Somewhere in the middle of these two ends of the cosmic measuring scale is the less commonly used figure known as the “light day,” denoting the distance light travels in a single Earth day.

That distance has begun to add up and impact the effectiveness of communications with Voyager, which are maintained through NASA’s Deep Space Network. Mission engineers spent weeks last November dealing with just one episode of technical difficulties due to communications lag. At billions of miles from Earth, the commands and responses took 23 hours to travel in each direction from Voyager 1 to Earth.

During that event, silicon dioxide from a rubber diaphragm had accumulated in a fuel tank, cutting off a crucial fuel thruster tube. Thrust was drastically lowered, as the liquid hydrazine fuel was impeded from flowing freely. It took 40 small thrusts from the obstructed system to even push Voyager into proper alignment for effective communication with Earth.

In the end, the mission engineers elected to return to a set of thrusters that had themselves been turned off years earlier due to malfunctions, although of a less severe sort than those plaguing the system last year. At one point during the operation, power was so low that the mission team had to take the calculated risk of turning off Voyager 1’s heater in deep space to power the systems required to bring the old thrusters back online.

The Future of Voyager 1

Despite the challenges of communicating over such a massive distance, NASA plans to maintain contact with Voyager 1 as it crosses the monumental 16.1 billion-mile threshold to reach one full light-day from Earth.

The celebration may be bittersweet, though. Three radioisotope thermoelectric generators power the craft, which are expected to run out of energy in the next decade. Many of Voyager 1’s systems are no longer functional, as those generators are even now providing much less power than the craft utilized at launch. Over the years, many concessions have been made, reverting to backup thrusters, disabling instruments, and cutting power to keep the mission continuing long past its expected lifespan.

As such, the one light day milestone may be the last outstanding achievement for humanity’s farthest step into the cosmos.

St. Malachy Last Pope Prophecy: What Theologians Think About 12th-Century Prediction

The following article was published on HuffPost website and written by Cavan Sieczkowski.

After Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation, those familiar with a 12th-century prophecy claiming the next pope will be the last questioned if Judgment Day is quickly approaching. Scholars, theologians and churchmen, however, all treat this "prediction" as fiction passed off as reality.

The "Prophecy of the Popes" is attributed to St. Malachy, an Irish archbishop who was canonized a saint in 1190, according to Discovery News. In his predication, dated 1139, Malachy prophesied that there would be 112 more popes before Judgment Day. Benedict is supposedly the 111th pope.

The foretelling offers brief descriptions about each pope, and some of them appear to align with reality in some way. For example, Benedict is apparently denoted as the "glory of the olive," and the Olivetans are affiliated with Benedictine Order, NBC News notes.

Curiously, the "Prophecy of Popes" stops at the 112th pope and ends with a cryptic warning of doomsday.

In the extreme persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit ... Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations: and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the terrible judge will judge his people. The End.

Following Benedict's resignation, theorists began questioning if Malachy might actually be right.

However, although Cardinal Peter Turkson of Ghana might bear the same name as the person mentioned in the prophecy, there are no Roman-born cardinals in the running to be Benedict's successor.

"There are no Pietros among the living cardinals; two Pierres (as second name): Nasrallah Pierre Sfeir and Jean-Pierre Ricard; and one Pedro: Rubiano Sáenz," according to librarian Salvador Miranda, creator and producer of the website The Cardinals of the Holy Roman Church.

Like any good conspiracy theory, there are many holes in the lore of St. Malachy, according to Father James Weiss, a professor of church history at Boston College.

First of all, there is no original manuscript of the prediction. Malachy's vision was allegedly discovered and published by Benedictine Arnold de Wyon in 1590. Prior to that date, there is no mention or record of it, Weiss told The Huffington Post.

Reputable church historians and clerics have considered it a forgery since the 18th century.

"Between the summer of 1590 and the fall of 1592, there were four popes [elected during] a period of rapid turnover," Weiss said during a phone conversation with HuffPost on Wednesday. "It was also a point at which there was intense rivalry between France and Spain to control the papacy for their own political reasons."

The prophecies surfaced after the first of the newly elected popes died. "It is widely thought, also given who the author was and his relationship, [that the prophecies] were published to establish the case for election of one particular cardinal," he added.

Another point Weiss raises is the line between the prediction for No. 111 "glory of olive" and No. 112 Petrus Romanus.

"It reads, 'In the extreme persecution in the Holy Roman Church there will sit...' It's an incomplete sentence," Weiss said. "Apparently a lot of scholars believe that line is an incomplete sentence indicating that there will be unidentified popes between the ["glory of olives"] and Peter the Roman."

Despite the fascination surrounding it, Malachy's prophecy is regarded as malarkey by church officials and scholars.

"Theologically and organizationally, the church pays no attention to this," Weiss said. "The only thing that you would say to someone who was obsessed or curious about it would be, 'Our times are in God's hands, and we can trust God's providence.' But that won't satisfy a lot of people."

Weiss is certainly not alone in his stance on St. Malachy's prophecy.

Dr. Thomas Groome, chair of the Department of Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry at Boston College, has a similar notion.

"For myself -- and even as a native Irishman -- the 'Prophecies of St. Malachy' are a grand old fun tale that have about as much reliability as the morning horoscope," he told HuffPost in an email Wednesday.

********************************************

It is interesting to note that Pope Leo XIV became the 113th Pope on May 8, 2025. Does that mean St. Malachy's prophecy is now null and void? Or is there a deeper meaning to the prophecy that is not understood? At this point, one can only ask... Who's ? Right

32 Names of God and Their Meaning

The following article was published on Bible Facts Press website.

What are the names of God in the Old Testament of the Bible and what do they mean? God Almighty is supreme and beyond comprehension, some of His qualities are Mighty, Creator, Lord, Provider, and Healer. God, the All-Powerful and Mighty One has many names for good reason. While we are blessed with great minds, wisdom and knowledge come from God. It is only when we get closer to Him that we get a glimpse of His awesomeness. We can begin by looking at the names on the list to give us an idea of some of the attributes the Bible describes God to be. Knowing the names of Our Father draws us closer to Him.

Sometimes we get caught up in our own little world without actually realizing how fearful and respectful we should be of the Righteous One.

Modern translations of the Bible have removed the true meaning of the names of God, so we take a look at the Hebrew Bible to give us further understanding. Be blessed and grow in your faith by studying the names below.

(That is why its name was Marah.)

24 So the people murmured against Moses, saying, “What can we drink?” 25 He cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When Moses threw it into the water, the water became safe to drink. There the Lord made for them a binding ordinance, and there he tested them. 26 He said, “If you will diligently obey the Lord your God, and do what is right in his sight, and pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, then all the diseases that I brought on the Egyptians I will not bring on you, for I, the Lord, am your healer.”

Mysterious Interstellar Object

The following story was obtained through The Daily Express and written by Cheyenne R. Ubiera.

NASA scientists stunned by mysterious interstellar object nearing Earth

A mysterious object hurtling through our solar system has left NASA scientists stunned as it draws closer to Earth.

New scans of 3I/ATLAS have found that the comet is not only much smaller than scientists previously believed but is also releasing a bunch of carbon dioxide gas.

About 904 trillion molecules of CO2 are released from the comet each second, suggesting that the comet is a star system that's completely different from ours.

Based on the light from 3I/ATLAS, scientists initially believed the comet was only 12 miles in diameter; however, NASA's most powerful telescopes have learned it's closer to 1.7 miles.

The size discrepancy is due to the light from a large, bright cloud of dust and the gas surrounding it, called a coma. At the time of writing, 3I/ATLAS is about 298 million miles from Earth.

Unlike other comets, most of the brightness around 3I/ATLAS comes from the cloud of dust around it instead of a solid core. The comet also doesn't show a lot of water vapor or CO2 gas being released, a strange occurrence for comets this close to the sun.

3I/ATLAS was first identified in July by the ATLAS telescope network, which looks for objects that could hit Earth. Photos of the comet were unknowingly taken by the Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile.

Until recently, 3I/ATLAS was completely unknown, leading Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb to theorize that it might have been created by an extraterrestrial civilization.

However, later findings in mid-August found that the comet may be a mixture of chunks of CO2 and ice - the CO2 keeps the ice cold, preventing it from melting into vapor.

Most comets also have tails or jets of gas and dust that follow behind them; however, 3I/ATLAS has a uniform cloud, making it extremely unusual. Scientists are still trying to determine the cause.

Based on the comet's path, it's likely that it'll pass through our solar system before traversing back into deep space, unlike Halley's comet, which comes back every 76 years.

3I/ATLAS is expected to be within 223 miles of Earth by December 17 and is only the third interstellar object ever detected to have traveled from outside the Milky Way.

The comet is traveling nearly 150,000 mph and is believed to be older than our sun.

**************************************************************

The following information was obtained through Bing AI Co-pilot.

The interstellar object 3I/ATLAS, recently discovered, is the third of its kind observed in our solar system and is classified as a comet.

Discovery and Characteristics

  • Initial Discovery: The object, initially dubbed A11pl3Z, was first detected on July 1, 2025, by the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) in Chile. It was later confirmed as an interstellar object by NASA and the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
  • Size and Composition: 3I/ATLAS is estimated to be about 12 miles (20 kilometers) in diameter, making it significantly larger than previous interstellar objects like Oumuamua and Comet 2I/Borisov. Its brightness and size allow for extended observation. The object appears to be primarily composed of ice rather than rock, as indicated by its "fuzziness" in observations.

Trajectory and Future Path

  • Speed and Trajectory: The object is traveling at an impressive speed of approximately 152,000 mph (245,000 km/h) and is on a straight trajectory that suggests it originated from outside the solar system. It is expected to pass just inside the orbit of Mars, posing no threat to Earth.

  • Closest Approach: 3I/ATLAS will make its closest approach to the Sun in October 2025, after which it will continue on its path out of the solar system.

Scientific Significance

  • Research Opportunities: The discovery of 3I/ATLAS provides a unique opportunity for scientists to study the processes of planet formation in other star systems. Its characteristics may offer insights into the composition and behavior of interstellar objects.

  • In summary, 3I/ATLAS is a fascinating interstellar visitor that enhances our understanding of cosmic phenomena and the dynamics of objects traveling through our solar system. Scientists are eager to learn more about its origins and implications for future research.

12 Major & Minor Judges of Israel

Before the judges were established, the people of Israel had no formal governance, relying instead on leaders like Moses and Joshua. After Joshua's death, the Great Creator saw that Israel's sinful tendencies were leading them toward chaos once again. Fearing that the tribes would fall back into their wicked ways, as they had when Moses went to receive the Ten Commandments, God decided to appoint individuals with authority to guide Israel back to the path of righteousness. Thus, the Judges of Israel came into being and ruled for 324 years.

According to the Life Application Bible commentary, it says, "These judges were not perfect; in fact, they included an assassin, a sexually promiscuous man, and a person who broke all laws of hospitality. But they were submissive to God, and God used them."

There is a probability that there were other judges not named in the Holy Bible as there are gaps in the timeline. Likewise, some judges have chapters rich with details about their lives, while others remain shrouded in mystery, with little information to uncover, leaving their enigmatic reign open to speculation.

Major Judge: Othniel
Meaning of Name: "Lion of God"
Tribe: Judah
Time Period: 1373-1334 BC
Enemy Defeated: Mesopotamians
Years of Peace: 40
Characteristics: Integrity and Faithfulness

The Mandela Effect

The following article was published on Science of People and written by Galina Hitching.

Have you ever been absolutely certain about a past event, only to find out it never happened the way you recall? You’re not alone!

From misremembering iconic lines in movies to recalling historical events incorrectly, the Mandela Effect showcases the unreliability of our memories. Stick around as we delve into the science behind this bewildering experience!

The Mandela Effect is a phenomenon where a large group of people remember an event or detail differently than how it actually occurred. It is named after Nelson Mandela, as many people incorrectly remembered him dying in prison in the 1980s, despite his actual death occurring in 2013. This effect highlights how collective memories can diverge from historical facts, often involving pop culture references or significant events.

While some people say the Mandela Effect is just due to confirmation bias or misremembering, others entertain more speculative explanations, such as parallel universes.

The Mandela effect is different than being confused or forgetting the details of something that happened. Instead, the Mandela effect is when your memories don’t match reality. Then, to make it even crazier, multiply your experience into a collective memory, where many people are confused about the same thing!

Check your memory with our Mandela Effect test. The answers are at the bottom of each question.

1. When did Nelson Mandela die?

Let’s get to the most famous Mandela Effect example. Although the South African president didn’t die until 2013, many people remember Nelson Mandela dying in the 80s while in prison. Some even remember his widow giving a speech after his death.

2. Is it Berenstein Bears or Berenstain Bears?

Ah, the classic childhood memory: curling up with a Berenstein Bears book. Wait, did we say Berenstein with an “e?” Plot twist: It’s actually spelled Berenstain Bears with an “a,” much to the surprise and disbelief of countless people.

3. Did the Fruit of the Loom logo have a cornucopia?

No, not even as far back as 1893. Yes, we know it does look better with it.

4. Which is the correct quote from Star Wars? “Luke, I am your father.” or “No. I am your father.”

While many fans swear by the line “Luke, I am your father,” Darth Vader actually said, “No, I am your father.” It’s as if our memories have been tampered with by a Jedi Mind Trick!

5.  Throwing some shade on Risky Business

In 1983, Tom Cruise danced across our screens in Risky Business, wearing a button-up shirt, white socks, and sunglasses. If you rewatch the scene, you’ll see Tom is not sporting the sunglasses that are present in just about every parody of this scene.

6. Mister Rogers’s theme song isn’t what you remember

For those who grew up with Mister Roger’s smiling face, and even those who didn’t, the theme song is familiar in American pop culture. But, while we all remember it as, “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood,” the lyrics are actually, “It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood.”

7. Mirror, mirror…

Most of us seem to remember the famous phrase from Snow White to be “Mirror, mirror on the wall.” And while this has been recreated and repeated in any number of pop culture references and spoofs, it seems we’ve all got it a little wrong. The correct phrase was “Magic mirror on the wall.”

8. Play it again, Sam

Casablanca is a treasure trove of one-liners, but one of the most beloved and oft-quoted lines isn’t what we remember it to be. The closest Humphrey Bogart got to this famed line was only, “Play it!

9. Toons or Tunes?

Yet another blast from the past has us questioning whether it was Looney Toons or Looney Tunes. Saturday morning is filled with memories of Looney Toons, but the correct spelling of the show was Looney Tunes.

10. Tinker Bell & the Disney Logo

Remember how Tinker Bell used to write the Disney Logo with her wand and dot the I at the end? While Tink did fly in and sprinkle pixie dust around the Disney logo on several movies, it was never in this exact way that many people remember.

11. Play me a melody, play me a memory

Song lyrics can be hard to catch, with some musicians abandoning diction for creative expression. This isn’t the case when Billy Joel sings “Piano Man.” We checked, and he clearly sings, “Son, can you play me a memory?” but many people remember it as, “Son, can you play me a melody?”

12. Feel the Febreeeze

Febreze has been around for a while, making the world fresher. So maybe that’s why some people remember the brand as Febreeze, a literal take on product branding. If you remember it with two e’s, here’s one consolation—even people who have worked for the company have gotten it wrong too!

13. Good morning, Clarice

Hannibal Lecter never said the chilling “Hello Clarice” everyone remembers from the movie. Instead, he said, “Good morning, Clarice.”

14.  “Interview with A Vampire” vs. “Interview with The Vampire”

Whether you’re a fang fan or not, you might remember Anne Rice’s book as “Interview with A Vampire.” Sink your teeth into this—the actual title uses “The,” not “A.”

15.  White-Out our Wite-Out?

Correcting mistakes in the ’90s like a champ, you reach for the White-Out. Wait a minute, it’s spelled “Wite-Out”? That’s right, no ‘h’! It’s like our entire school life was a typo.

What are Some Causes of the Mandela Effect?

Some people say it’s easily explained with psychology and neuroscience, while others might believe different causes. Here are some of the possible causes of the Mandela effect.

Alternate Realities. This is the most popular non-scientific explanation for the Mandela effect and relies on the belief that infinite worlds and realities exist. This has made for fantastic movie plots, and some physicists even defend the multiverse2. Still, we’ll leave you to decide whether this is the most plausible explanation for the Mandela effect.

The Internet. While disinformation has recently gained more attention, the internet has long been a breeding ground for false information. There are constant announcements of people who have died but are still alive, information that is skewed and reinterpreted, and, let’s not even get into deep fake. If outside forces create the Mandela effect, we point to the internet.

Priming. You may have heard about this on crime shows; priming is when a person phrases a question so that they give the desired answer. Priming is also when the environment you live in impacts your responses. Our surroundings and what we see, hear, and imagine often shape perception and even memory3.

Confabulation. As humans, we need resolution, and our brain fills in the gaps that either don’t make sense or are simply missing. This is a great explanation for Mandela effects like Berenstain Bears, where the spelling makes more sense with an e. It’s possible people fill in the gaps and adjust reality to fit their presuppositions.

False Memories. Unlike confabulation, personal desire often fuels false memories5, along with the need for self-relevance, and other unconscious motivations. Researchers continue to be perplexed by false memories, and it remains a controversial topic.

Woman shares theory that we never really die and it’s freaking people out

The following article was published on Indy 100 and written by Breanna Robinson.

People on TikTok are freaking out after one woman suggested that we might not ever truly pass on - and that the world could have ended many times before without our knowledge.

Joli Moli, who goes by @joli.artist on the platform, is scaring people with a video she posted that claimed that we may never really die, but instead, our consciousness goes into an alternate reality.

In that alternate reality, we exist without the memories of the world we lived in prior, except for some details that don’t seem right.

Moli noted that if the theory of quantum immortality - which suggests that people never really die - is accurate, then humanity might have been ended many times by apocalyptic events similar to the asteroids “taking out the dinosaurs” 65 million years ago.

We would essentially have no recollection because our consciousness would endure it, and we’d awake in a parallel world where that hasn’t occurred.

And because we have a limited word count here, here’s a 13-minute explanation of quantum immortality that’s worth a watch:

“If the quantum immortality theory is correct, you’re just going to wake up in a parallel universe with no memory of the fact that you just survived an apocalyptic event,” Moli said in the video.

She also detailed that our only sort of inkling into understanding that there might be a parallel world would be through the “new Mandela effects,” a phenomenon where people remember major events differently from how history claims it went.

People in the comments found this discourse quite frightening and disturbing, as it may lean towards understanding that “we can’t escape.”

“The thought of never being able to actually die is extremely depressing, and it’s giving me a headache,” someone wrote.

”Bruh, I’m just done with this anxiety. My body [is] emotionally [and] physically TIREDDD,” another added.

A third commenter who is not really into conspiracies also suggested that they are “freaking out” about this idea.

“Ok, I’m actually kind of freaking out right now coz I’m not the conspiracy typa guy, but you’re like eerily making sense,” they said.

Others in the comments saw the positives of eternal life, with one saying that it brings them great comfort because they’ve lost people to “tragic deaths.”

And on the other hand, people also shared experiences of “dreams” that they’ve had about the “world ending,” which made them believe in this theory even more.

The Mandela effect is named after Nelson Mandela, the former South African president and activist for civil rights during Apartheid.

After his passing in 2013, many people believed that he had passed away in prison in the 1980s and even had “clear” memories of his funeral on the news.

With that, if you’ve ever awoken to find that things weren’t exactly as you remember them, maybe it means that you died in another universe and woke up in this one. How spine-chilling.

First of 3 Significant Blood Moons Appeared This Morning, Landing Directly on Jewish Holiday

The following article was published on the CBN News website and written by Benjamin Gill.

ANALYSIS

Skywatchers had a chance to see a "blood moon" in the early hours of Friday morning. It was visible across the U.S. for about an hour, starting at 2:26 a.m. Eastern, and according to Forbes online, "The full 'Worm Moon' turned a beautiful reddish color as it drifted through Earth’s massive umbral shadow in space."

Parts of Latin America, Africa, and Europe also caught a glimpse of the phenomenon.

Friday's lunar eclipse was the first in a series of remarkable celestial signs that will be on display in the coming months that could hold prophetic significance for our world. This series of four heavenly phenomena includes one solar event and three lunar events, two of which could represent a possible message about Israel.

It all kicked off with a total lunar eclipse known as a "blood moon" that primarily appeared over the U.S. on March 14, 2025. This first eclipse fell directly on the Jewish holiday of Purim. That's when the Jewish people celebrate the biblical account of Esther when they were delivered from annihilation at the hands of an enemy named Haman in the Persian empire, which is modern-day Iran.

That first lunar eclipse will be followed by two more blood moons, with one coming this fall before Rosh Hashanah, and then the third one ALSO falling directly on Purim on March 3, 2026.

Bible prophecy experts say lunar eclipses, known as "blood moons," are tied to events that affect Israel. And with antisemitism spiking around the globe, the ongoing chaos with Hamas in Gaza, and the massive Middle East shifts that have followed the October 7 massacre in Israel, the two Purim blood moons could hold special significance.

Israel is also facing a new era of uncertainty now that its neighbor Syria has fallen into the hands of rebels with ties to Al Qaeda and Turkey. And some are concerned that Iran could find a way to lash out after seeing its proxy terrorist armies of Hamas and Hezbollah being destroyed by Israel. It's why Israel may feel compelled to act swiftly as rumors abound that Iran is close to completing a nuclear weapon that could be deployed against the Jewish state.

What Is the Significance of a Blood Moon?

A blood moon is a full lunar eclipse in which the moon can appear to be an eerie, blood-red color. Blood moons occur when Earth passes directly between the moon and the sun, preventing the sun from reflecting off the moon and casting a reddish shadow over it.

In the next such event, the moon will turn red for more than an hour over North and South America on March 14.

The cosmic moment will repeat on September 7, 2025, with an 82-minute "blood moon" that will be visible over Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. That's two weeks before the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, which is a time of prayer and repentance.

Then, the third blood moon will arrive on Purim on March 3, 2026. It will be visible for nearly six hours from Asia to parts of North America.

Christian leaders who study biblical prophecy, like Pastor John Hagee and Pastor Mark Biltz, have contended for years that blood moons portend significant events for Israel and the Middle East and, therefore, the entire world.

Hagee wrote a best-selling book about it called Four Blood Moons. "The heavens are 'God's billboard.' He's been sending signals to Earth, and we haven't been picking them up," Hagee explained a decade ago when talking about a particularly remarkable series of blood moons called a tetrad – that's four blood moons within a span of two years.

The last time a tetrad took place was from 2014-2015, and all four of those eclipses landed directly on Jewish holidays, coming as the world endured the shocking and horrific rise of ISIS, the highly controversial Iran nuclear deal, and the previous Israeli war with Hamas.

That tetrad began during Passover in 2014. The final blood moon of that series took place in September of 2015 during the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles, which marks God's provision and protection during the Israelites' 40 years in the wilderness.

Significance of Blood Moon Tetrads in History

Historically, blood moon tetrads have occurred during some truly world-changing events directly related to Israel.

Three tetrads stand out over the last millennium, coinciding with major events for the Jewish people. They occurred from 1493-1494, 1949-1950, and 1967-1968.

In 1492, the Jews were expelled from Spain after severe persecution, and Christopher Columbus also discovered America, which would eventually become a safe haven for the Jewish people.

In 1948, the modern state of Israel was reborn as a nation in its original homeland, fulfilling a biblical prophecy from Jeremiah 16:15 – "For I will restore them to their own land which I gave to their fathers."

"After 2,000 years, God supernaturally brought them from 66 nations, and a nation was born in a day," Hagee explained in a previous interview. "That, again, was a supernatural something that happened following the tragedy of the Holocaust."

Finally, in 1967, Israel recaptured their capital of Jerusalem during the Six-Day War, which many see as an essential precursor to the eventual construction of the Jewish Third Temple. (The Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 A.D.)

"In each of these blood moons, you have something that begins in tragedy and ends in triumph," Hagee said.

The next tetrad of blood moons will occur in 2032–2033, exactly 2,000 years after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The first two in that rare tetrad will occur on April 25 and October 18, 2032.  The last two in that series will fall on Jewish holidays – Passover on April 14, 2033, and Sukkot on Oct 8, 2033. A total solar eclipse will occur right in the middle of that tetrad on March 30, 2033.

Celestial Signs in the Bible & Jewish Tradition

Blood moons are mentioned in multiple places in the Bible, including in the book of Joel, the book of the Acts of the Apostles, and the book of Revelation.

Blood moons are first foretold in Joel 2:31: "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come." The Apostle Peter repeats that prophecy in Acts 2:20.

Then the End Times book of Revelation 6:12 says: "And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood."

All of those scriptures refer to the moon turning blood red as a heavenly sign that the End Times are underway.

The Gospel of Luke 21:25-28 points to more celestial signs before the end of days: "And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads because your redemption is drawing near."

Gazing at the Heavens: Bible Scholar Points to Eclipses During Jonah's Time and Christ's Crucifixion

Meanwhile, Jewish teachings from the Talmud also indicate that lunar and solar eclipses have long been seen as a sign from God.

According to the Messianic Prophecy Bible Project, the Talmud states, "Our Rabbis taught, when the sun is in eclipse it is a bad omen for idolaters; when the moon is in eclipse, it is a bad omen for Israel, since Israel reckons by the moon and idolaters by the sun...  If it is in eclipse in the east, it is a bad omen for those who dwell in the east; if in the west, it is a bad omen for those who dwell in the west; if in the midst of heaven, it is a bad omen for the whole world."

A Solar Eclipse After the 3 Blood Moons

Capping off the four major celestial signs over the next two years, after the three blood moons, there will be a total solar eclipse in August of 2026, visible across Europe and Russia.

As Pastor Hagee previously told CBN News, "The evidence is very clear Scripturally that God controls the sun, moon, and stars – that God is sending us a signal through the sun, the moon, and the stars. The question is, are we listening?"

NASA Prepping For Doomsday Scenario Where Asteroid Has 72 Percent Chance of Hitting Earth

The following article was published on The Hearty Soul website and the story was written by Sean Cate.

NASA is currently preparing for a hypothetical scenario where an asteroid has a 72 percent chance of impact with Earth in the next 14 years. This exercise, while not based on any real threat, helps NASA and other agencies prepare for a potential future impact and develop strategies to avoid such a disaster.

The Hypothetical Asteroid Impact

In this simulated scenario, scientists and experts planned for the possibility of an asteroid hitting Earth. Despite the lack of any known significant threat, these exercises are crucial for preparing for the unlikely but possible event of an asteroid impact. Lindley Johnson, NASA's defense officer emeritus, stated the importance of these exercises, noting that a large asteroid impact is the only natural disaster humanity can predict and potentially prevent years in advance.

Simulation Challenges

During the simulation at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, nearly 100 experts faced the challenge of an asteroid with a 72 percent chance of hitting Earth. Initial findings could not determine the asteroid's exact size and direction accurately, making things difficult. The difficulty was further increased by the fact that the asteroid had passed behind the sun, delaying observations by seven months.

Role of FEMA and Interagency Coordination

Leviticus ‘LA' Lewis from FEMA highlighted the agency's role in coordinating responses before, during, and after disasters. In the event of a potential asteroid impact, FEMA would be a key player in ensuring public safety and preparedness. The exercise also included international collaborators, marking the first time such a wide array of participants joined in a planetary defense simulation.2

Utilizing DART Mission Data

This exercise was the first to use data from NASA's Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission, which showed the effectiveness of a kinetic impactor in changing an asteroid's course. The DART mission's success provides valuable insights for potential future efforts to deflect hazardous asteroids.

Development of NEO Surveyor

NASA is also developing the Near-Earth Object (NEO) Surveyor, an infrared space telescope designed to expedite the discovery and characterization of potentially hazardous near-Earth objects (like an asteroid that could potentially impact Earth). The NEO Surveyor is expected to launch in June 2028, significantly enhancing humanity's ability to detect and respond to asteroid threats well in advance.

Future Preparedness and Exercises

Following the simulation, NASA will publish a comprehensive report outlining the strengths and weaknesses identified during the exercise. These insights will help shape future plans and improve how prepared we will be. The Planetary Defense Coordination Office, established in 2016, continues to lead NASA's efforts in managing planetary defense initiatives.

Can One Really Prepare for an Asteroid Impact?

While the threat of an asteroid impact is still just a theory, NASA's proactive approach in preparing for such scenarios underscores the importance of being ready for any potential space hazards. Through simulations, technological advancements like the DART mission, and the upcoming NEO Surveyor, NASA aims to ensure that humanity is ready to handle and lower the risks of asteroid impacts.
