Who is Baba Vanga?

Baba Vanga was a world-famous mystic who grew up in Bulgaria. She has often been referred to as the Nostradamus of the Balkans for her grand predictions. 

The origins of her gift

She grew up on a farm and was blinded in a dust storm when she was 12 years old. She said that this was the moment she received a gift from God to see into the future. 

The first signs

According to baba-vanga.com, she began to exhibit strange behavior around the age of 18. She left a home for the blind where she had spent her teen years and returned to live with her family in what is now North Macedonia. She began to have visions and strange dreams, and would speak to the dead.

Vanga's posthumous prophecies

She died in 1996 at the age of 75, but by that time had already made many far-reaching predictions about the future.

Foreseeing the fate of the Earth

In the 1950s, she made a prediction that seemed to herald climate change and the devastating tsunami that occurred in the Indian Ocean on December 26, 2004.

Vanga is believed to have said, “Cold regions will become warm … and volcanoes will awaken. A huge wave will cover a big coast covered with people and towns, and everything will disappear beneath the water. Everything will melt, just like ice.”

The Kursk submarine disaster

It’s rumored that she predicted a famous disaster that occurred in Russia in the year 2000. The Kursk submarine sank during a major Russian naval exercise and all of its 118 crew members were killed.

Her most famous prediction

One year later, her supporters claimed that she had once again predicted a major world event. It’s reported that she made a prediction that closely matched the details of the September 11 terrorist attack in the US.

The 9/11 prophecy

Vanga is believed to have said, “The American brothers will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush, and innocent blood will be gushing."

Her reputation for accuracy

These events helped to solidify Vanga’s reputation as a psychic among her followers. Many say that her predictions are extremely reliable. One researcher, the late Bulgarian psychiatrist Professor Georgi Lozanov, calculated that she has an 85% accuracy rate! So, what has she got lined up for 2023? 

2023: the Earth's orbit will change

Baba Vanga made five major predictions for 2023. The first was that the Earth's orbit will "change" somehow. The Earth's orbit of the sun is known to change infinitesimally over tens of thousands of years, but a more sudden change would have devastating effects. Moving closer to the sun would accelerate global warming, and moving further away would plunge us into an ice age. 

2023: a solar tsunami is coming

She also predicted that a powerful solar storm the likes of which we've never seen will occur in 2023. Solar storms are disturbances on the sun that can emanate out into our solar system and impact the Earth. Some have interpreted her words to mean a solar tsunami is coming. This is a rarely-seen phenomenon where a powerful plasma wave ripples across the sun and into the surrounding space climate. It could be devastating for Earth, causing blackouts and failures in technology.

2023: biological weapons will be used

Baba Vanga declared that a "big country" would carry out experiments using biological weapons on humans, and that hundreds of thousands would die as a result. Such practices are banned by the Biological Weapons Convention of the United Nations, but there are fears that some countries are going ahead with experiments in secret. 

2023: nuclear explosion

Baba Vanga warned that there would be a major nuclear power plant explosion in 2023. This is a very real concern considering that the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine has been caught up in the war with Russia, while Putin threatens nuclear war. 

2023: no more pregnancies

Finally, she predicted that natural pregnancies will be banned and all babies will be grown in laboratories. She said it will be up to leaders and medical experts to decide who gets a baby and when, while the parents will be allowed to decide on traits such as hair and eye color. Luckily, Baba Vanga's predictions haven't always been right. 

False predictions: 1994 World Cup Final

In 1994, she claimed that the World Cup Final would be played by two teams with names that began with the letter B. She was right about Brazil, but the other team was Italy. Perhaps she was hoping Bulgaria would make it to the final!

False predictions: nuclear war

She predicted that a nuclear war would occur between 2010 and 2014, and that certainly didn’t happen!

False predictions: Europe's destruction

A rather dramatic prophecy that never came to fruition was her claim that Europe would cease to exist in 2016.

False predictions: the 44th and final US president

Vanga is said to have correctly predicted that the 44th President of the United States would be African American, but she also claimed that this person would be the final president!

Some have interpreted this prediction as the end of serious politics in the US, with celebrities taking over the position of president. Thankfully, Kanye 2020 didn't work out...

Now, let’s see what other predictions Vanga made for the future!

Future predictions: climate change weapons

Baba Vanga said that in 2066 the US will unleash a climate change weapon on Muslim-controlled Rome.

Future predictions: time travel

Finally, in 2304, Baba Vanga says that humans will discover time travel.

Religions and belief systems have tried to piece together how the world works, and how people should behave in accordance with metaphysical ideas. Christians believe that if someone accepts Jesus Christ as their lord and savior and repents for their sins they can enter the Kingdom of God, Muslims have a similar idea and believe that those who live a righteous life will enter heaven, whereas those who not will go to hell, and the ancient Greeks believed that one traveled through the realm of Hades after death trying to find salvation, according to Getty.

Other religious systems don't have a rigid separation between the world of the living and the dead, but rather believe in cycles of reincarnation, such as Hinduism and Buddhism. In these two religions, death is not seen as the end, but rather a process where people try to attain higher levels of status and existence. According to Set Free, only by living good lives and attaining good karma can one hope to be elevated to another caste.

Wet waste will be composted 

For Hindus specifically, people are born into four different castes and are only reincarnated as humans. The lowest caste is the Sudras, traditionally peasants or servants; the next level is Vaishyas, who are merchants; Kshatriyas are warriors, kings, or other rulers; and the final level is the Brahmins, the teachers, and priests of Hinduism, according to Phiren Amenca. It is believed that by doing good deeds in your current life, you will be rewarded with higher status in the next.

Below all of these is a group of people known as Dalits, or the Untouchables. Members of this caste aren't allowed to associate with any other denomination whatsoever. Even now Dalits face harsh segregation and are often abused in everyday society. It is sometimes expected that Dalits should do harsh manual labor that was unattractive to the higher castes, and many were indentured servants, including children (via National Geographic). Today, some laws are implemented to protect Untouchables, but often aren't enforced due to permeating cultural beliefs, according to Britannica.

Comparison To Buddhism

Many Untouchables convert to other religions due to this discrimination. Buddhism is often a popular religion to follow given its more empathetic take on the caste system and reincarnation as a whole, compared to its older spiritual cousin (via Britannica). In Buddhism, there is still karma and the belief in reincarnation, but the castes are radically different. Buddhists believe that all people are equal, and all people can reach enlightenment, but they also hold the notion that people can be reincarnated into different beings.

Usually, these beings are divided into six different categories: Gods, demigods, humans, animals, hungry ghosts, and devils. Hungry ghosts are beings who are constantly craving one thing that can never be fully satisfied, according to Lion's Roar. Nonetheless, both Hindus and Buddhists believe that karma exists and that the actions in our lives have consequences that follow us to the next, in the hopes that one day we will live in eternal bliss.

What Is The Oldest Religious Holy Text On The Earth?

Religion has been a fundamental part of human civilization for what seems like time immemorial. For thousands of years, people have tried to make sense of this mysterious universe through stories of divine beings, monsters, and other supernatural creatures. Even in modern times, 84% of people worldwide view themselves as religious, belonging to a wide variety of different groups and organizations, some of which are thousands of years old (via Visual Capitalist).

Though not all religious or spiritual communities have kept written holy scriptures, making it impossible to know what the world's first religion was, historians and archaeologists have collected a fair amount of old manuscripts, providing keen insight into how ancient humans practiced religion. So, what is the oldest religious holy text experts have uncovered? Well, it doesn't come from Hinduism, Judaism, or any of the other major religious denominations today (per the Abrahamic Study Hall). Rather it comes from a time long before ours, found in an ancient city more than 4,000 years old in modern-day Iraq (via Ancient Origins).

The Kesh Temple Hymn

The text is known as the Kesh Temple Hymn, and it dates back to roughly 2600 B.C., found in what would be Sumer, one of the world's oldest civilizations (via Ancient Origins). This ancient empire began building religious buildings around 5200 BC, dating more than 7000 years ago, states History. The Sumerians are also credited with creating the oldest known written language, as well as pioneering technologies like crop irrigation, farming, and even advancing certain medicinal practices (via History).

The Kesh Temple Hymn was found in the Sumerian city Tell Abu Salabikh, written in cuneiform, a form of writing that describes events through different pictures on clay tablets. The text was 134 lines long, divided into eight different sections, portraying the city of Kesh as a righteous city that was near Ekur, the supposed place where the Sumerian gods gathered together (via Ancient Origins).

The Sumerians were polytheistic and believed that at one point, the world had been nothing more than the ocean, known as Nammu. Eventually, Nammu gave birth to the gods An and Ki, the former being the god of the sky and the latter the god of the earth, according to Study.com. Eventually, these divine beings procreated and gave birth to other gods, such as Enlil, the chief god of the Sumerian pantheon that controlled storms (via CK-12).

Sumerians thought that the gods were much like us and were swayed heavily by emotions. Therefore, it was of the utmost importance to keep them in a happy state of mind, or else they would curse the Sumerians with all sorts of natural disasters such as floods, storms, droughts, famine, disease, or some other catastrophe that was uncontrollable. As a result, priests were very respected in this society, and it was believed that they communicated directly with the gods.

Though no one knows who actually wrote the Kesh Temple Hymn, the Sumerians believed that it was transcribed directly from Nisaba, the Sumerian goddess of literature, according to Ancient Origins. The Sumerians believed that the gods and goddesses actually lived and dwelled on Earth, within the ziggurats the people constructed. However, lay people weren't allowed direct access to the gods — that was something only permissible for priests, states CK-12.

In the hymn, Enlil allowed the people of Kesh to build the temple, which was to be devoted to the goddess Ninhursag, also known as Nintu. She was believed to be the goddess of fertility and mountains (via New World Encyclopedia). In the text, the temple is compared to the moon as being the life of Sumer itself. The tablets also outline where the gods will reside in the temple, explain how the structure reaches heaven and the underworld, and discusses Ashgi, the son of Ninhursag, who was supposed to protect the city of Kesh (via "How To Do Things With Tears" and Ancient Origins).

How Sumerians Worshipped

Another detail highlighted in the Kesh Temple Hymn is how many cattle ought to be owned by the temple, according to Ancient Origins. This makes sense, as temples in Sumer weren't just places of worship — they were also businesses. Though there was a chief priest who was in charge of pleasing the gods and providing religious guidance for the community, there was another person who managed the logistical part of things. Many temples owned loads of land and employed a good amount of people from the city, according to History on the Net.

The city of Kesh was no different, and the Kesh Temple harvested crops and livestock and even loaned money to certain citizens. Becoming a priest or priestess was not an easy task in ancient Sumer, however — aspirers were required to be physically fit and come from a well-off family. It was also important for a priest(ess) to learn how to read and write, given that they would manage much of the legal records for the city.

Impacts On The Modern World

Far after their fall as a kingdom, the Sumerians' religious beliefs affected other cultures, including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. One ancient Sumerian story, the Epic of Gilgamesh, is fairly similar to the story of Noah's ark and the flood. In the former narrative, there is a man named Utanapishtim, who at one point felt the wrath of the gods (via HowStuffWorks). Before the time of Gilgamesh, the chief Sumerian god Enlil had become annoyed with humanity, so he looked to get rid of the species with a flood. Sound familiar? Enlil instructs the other gods not to relay this plan to any mortal being, but the god of wisdom, Ea, creates a roundabout way to do so. Specifically, he tells a reed wall Enlil's plan, speaking loud enough so Utanapishtim, who was behind the reef at the time, could hear the message.

Ea commands Utanapishtim to construct a boat filled with all sorts of different riches — as well as animals and seeds — to rebuild the world after Enlil's upcoming apocalypse. Eventually, Enlil and the gods stop their reign of terror after Utanapishtim makes sacrifices to them. Even more interesting, in the Dead Sea Scrolls, some of the oldest Biblical texts ever found, there is a giant in the Book of Enoch named Gilgamesh. Undoubtedly, the world's oldest civilization and its religious system still create ripple effects through our culture in the modern world, making the study of these peoples of the utmost importance.

The Books of Enoch

In its entirety, The Books of Enoch are made up of five sections – The Book of Watchers, Book of Parables, The Astronomical Book, The Dream Visions, and The Epistles of Enoch – containing around 100 chapters. 

These chapters tell the story of the 7th patriarch in the Book of Genesis – Enoch, the father of Methuselah and grandfather of Noah.

Wikipedia describes the First Book of Enoch as follows:

The Book of Enoch (also 1 Enoch; Ge'ez: መጽሐፈ ሄኖክ mets’iḥāfe hēnoki) is an ancient Jewish religious work, ascribed by tradition to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. The older sections (mainly in the Book of the Watchers) of the text are estimated to date from about 300 BC, and the latest part (Book of Parables) probably to the first century BC.

It is not part of the biblical canon as used by Jews, apart from Beta Israel. Most Christian denominations and traditions may accept the Books of Enoch as having some historical or theological interest, but they generally regard the Books of Enoch as noncanonical or noninspired. It is regarded as canonical by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, but not by any other Christian groups.

It is wholly extant only in the Ge'ez language, with Aramaic fragments from the Dead Sea Scrolls and a few Greek and Latin fragments. For this and other reasons, the traditional Ethiopian belief is that the original language of the work was Ge'ez, whereas non-Ethiopian scholars tend to assert that it was first written in either Aramaic or Hebrew; Ephraim Isaac suggests that the Book of Enoch, like the Book of Daniel, was composed partially in Aramaic and partially in Hebrew. No Hebrew version is known to have survived. It is asserted in the book itself that its author was Enoch, before the Biblical Flood.

Some of the authors of the New Testament were familiar with some of the content of the story. A short section of 1 Enoch (1:9) is cited in the New Testament, Epistle of Jude, Jude 1:14–15, and is attributed there to "Enoch the Seventh from Adam" (1 En 60:8), although this section of 1 Enoch is a midrash on Deuteronomy 33. Several copies of the earlier sections of 1 Enoch were preserved among the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Enoch was the seventh patriarch in the book of Genesis, and the attributed author of the Books of Enoch. Enoch is best known for his sudden disappearance from the ancient world, which accredited him with "being taken by God" personally. According to Genesis 5: 21-24,

"And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him."

The First Book of Enoch goes into extended commentaries on angels and giants [of the land in those days], as well as proscribing parables, foretelling astronomical events and recording historical information of that ancient epoch. His dream visions were well known to show an apocalyptic future.

The Second Book of Enoch, or The Book of the Secrets of Enoch, is preserved only in an Old Slavonic translation. The book deals with Enoch's journey through the seven tiers of heaven (the descriptions correlate with the First Book of Enoch), the explication of Enoch's reception of God's secret wisdom and an account of the patriarch's life and advice to his sons.

The Books of Enoch was 'at first' accepted and recognized by the early Christian Church, but it was later excluded from the biblical canon in the early 17th century. But this ancient patriarch was the subject of abundant apocryphal literature, especially during the Hellenistic period of Judaism from around the 3rd century BC to 3rd century AD.

It is interesting to note, in the 1st century AD Jesus fulfilled some of the prophecies of Enoch - almost word for word - which had been foretold over 2,000 years earlier.

Quotes from Jesus and Enoch...

Enoch: The elect shall possess light, joy and peace, and they shall inherit the earth. (Enoch 5:7 {6:9})

Jesus: Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. (Mat 5:5)

Enoch: The principal part of the judgment was assigned to him, the Son of man. (Enoch 69:27 {68:39})

Jesus: The Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the son (John 5:22).

Enoch: Those who will inherit eternal life (Enoch 40:9 {40:9}) "

Jesus: Shall inherit everlasting life (Mat. 19:29)

Enoch: Woe to you who are rich, for in your riches have you trusted; but from your riches you shall be removed. (Enoch 94:8 {93:7}).

Jesus: Woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. (Luke 6:24)

Enoch: I will place each of them on a throne of glory (Enoch 108:12 {105:26})

Jesus: Ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Mat. 19:28)

Enoch: Where will the habitation of sinners be . . . who have rejected the Lord of spirits. It would have been better for them, had they never been born. (Enoch 38:2 {38:2})

Jesus: Woe unto that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! It had been good for that man if he had not been born. (Mat. 26:24)

Enoch: by a chasm . . . [are] their souls are separated (Enoch 22: 9,11{22:10,12})

Jesus: Between us and you there is a great gulf fixed. (Luke 16:26)

Enoch: In that day shall the Elect One sit upon a throne of glory, and shall choose their conditions and countless habitations. (Enoch 45:3 {45:3})

Jesus: In my Father's house are many mansions (John 14:2)

Enoch: The good from the generation of light (Enoch 108:11 {105: 25})

Jesus: That ye may be called the children of light (John 12:36)

Enoch: All the thirsty drank, and were filled with wisdom, having their habitation with the righteous, the elect, and the holy. (Enoch 48:1 {48:1})

Jesus: The water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (John 4:14)

Biblical scholars of all faiths agree that Enoch was a piteous man; but other scholars and theologians also believe he was the recipient of a secret knowledge of God. However, the most significant reason the Book of Enoch is not included as a canon in the Holy Bible is the majority of scholars claim it was not inspired by the Holy Spirit. The argument for this decision mainly goes according to Christian values and teachings, which claims this theory incorporates paganism.

Whether the Books of Enoch were divinely inspired will remain a mystery.

The New Virtues: Calling Evil Good and Good Evil by Jeremiah Jameson

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.” – 2 Timothy 3:1

The Bible warns of ‘perilous times’ during the last days and so they are.

One of the reasons for peril is the world will offer virtues which are not. They sound good but, upon closer inspection, are selfish, man-centered, antichrist ones.

The values which built civilization as it has been known for the last 4000 or so years will be rejected and exchanged for those which tear down families, God and life itself.

Concepts such as SIN, FEAR of GOD, FAITH, PATIENCE, SELFLESSNESS, SALVATION, RIGHTEOUSNESS and CHARITY are being exchanged for the world’s weak tea of:

• Tolerance (of sin)
• Love (of approved attitudes only)
• Freedom (from the commandments of God)
• Liberty (from anything which restricts an individual’s choices)
• Self-expression (celebration of self and the elevation of self as the highest standard of moral validation)
• Open-mindedness (concerning wickedness)
• Choice (of evils)

Murder no longer is called murder. It takes on different names. Murder becomes “choice.” Murder becomes “death with dignity.” Murder becomes “mercy.”

Death with Dignity: The Murder of the Inconvenient

Love is no longer love. Obsession, enslavement, compulsion, passion, addiction, infatuation, lust, mania, jealousy: all are labeled “love.”

Modern Romance: Love Which Isn’t

These new virtues are exalted by the world and placed above all others. Anyone with competing values will be labeled “old fashioned,” shouted down or worse.

Jesus? What? Don’t push your superstitions on me! This is 2016! Nobody’s gonna tell me what to do! I’m the master of my own destiny!

IN some cases, pleasures have been substituted for virtues. One example is the transformation of the appreciation of one’s family (a natural state and a pleasure) into a virtue. Another is changing the companionship of a pet (a pleasure) into a virtue.

Though values have rapidly changed, the new virtues have appropriated the names of the old.

Again, this is especially noticeable in what the world now calls “love.”

Real love is SELFLESS and concerned with the other person’s well-being ahead of one’s self.

The world’s new version of love emphasizes self, self and more self. Many younger folks believe love has to do with control: either gaining or surrendering it.

This exchange of social values only gets worse, and the meaning of words is being turned completely upside down.

Hate (of those who disagree) becomes LOVE (of what one prefers).

LOVE of God Almighty becomes hate (to all who want to live free of such restraints).

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” – Isaiah 5:20

The New Virtues are lies.

And such lies have a very short shelf-life.

Forty-two months, according to the Bible.

“And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” – Revelation 13:5,7

Is the reader already under the influence of the New Virtues? Is he calling good evil, and evil good?

How can the reader tell?

It is not yet too late to change.

End Times Prophecy - How Close Are We?  

Luke 21, Mark 13 and Matthew 24 all relay Jesus' lecture to his disciples on the subject of His return and end-times rule of the world from Jerusalem. Each writer employs unique terminology, but all agree on the Master's ultimate message. Matthew offers the most detailed of the three renditions:

Matthew 24: 3-14 (Summarized): As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples asked "... what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Messiah,' and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars... Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death... hated by all nations because of me... many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold... and this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Each of the renditions by the three apostles agree on seven specific events, postulates, and outcomes for which we should be aware.

THE SIGNS IN COMMON

1. Wars and Rumors of War

A study of each category in our present era is very revealing. We no longer need ask: "Where are we today in fulfillment of the end-time prophecies of Jesus?"

1. Wars and Rumors of War

Each of the following 20 nations experienced from significant war dead in the past year. Yemen, Ukraine, Turkey, Thailand, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Mexico, Libya, Iran, Israel/Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Congo, Columbia, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Afghanistan.

Other conflicts also aflame in 2020: namely Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Uganda, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Chad. In the Middle East we are also seeing armed combat in Yemen and Oman.

In total, in the past decade, we have also seen some 45 separate and deadly "religious" conflicts. Led notably by Malaysia, the Philippines, China, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Myanmar, some 35 countries are experiencing significant masses of people killed.

Year 2016 was one of the most violent years since the end of the Cold War. While violence levels decreased slightly from another high in 2017, non-state conflicts and internationalized intrastate conflicts continue to frustrate all attempts at global peace.

The gruesome total for armed conflicts resulting in significant numbers of deaths inflamed some 75 nations in the past decade. Other outbreaks are simmering in another 10 regions/countries yet lacking enough deaths to tip the statistical scales.

Enough said on wars: Jesus' prophecies on the topic are occurring today in great number!

2. Earthquakes in numerous places.

The statistics are staggering. The National Earthquake Information Center records an average of 20,000 earthquakes every year (about 50 a day). There are, however, millions of earthquakes occurring every year too weak to be recorded.

Unquestionably, the earth is seeing a ton of earthquake activity, and some environmental activist 'scientists' are predicting an increase in both frequency and intensity because of global warming for the near future.

Whatever the claims/statistics, we can safely and surely say this particular prophecy of Jesus is with us today in full force.

3. Famine.

After nearly a decade of progress, the number of people suffering from hunger has slowly increased over the past three years, with about one in every nine people globally suffering from hunger today, according to a United Nations report released in late 2019. An estimated 820 million people do not have enough to eat, up from 811 million last year - third year in a row that the number has increased.

This gruesome statistic somewhat softens the hard fact that children suffer the most from this world-class malady simply because they are most vulnerable to the depredations of those older and larger than themselves. We see no need to dwell further on this very unhappy, obvious topic.

4. Pestilence

Ironically, this writer had already formed the basic outline for this prophecy report before the current 'Corona Flu' epic made headlines in world newspapers. We probably don't need to cover the topic further, but a few of the statistics we unearthed are interesting. So... here goes!

A pandemic is an outbreak of global proportions. It happens when a bacterium or mutated virus becomes capable of spreading rapidly. It causes serious illness and can spread easily from one person to the next. The Spanish flu pandemic, from 1918 to 1920, is estimated to have claimed betwen 50-100 million lives. It is considered the worst in history. The Black Death claimed the lives of over 75 million people in the 14th Century.

Other outbreaks of significant import include:

HIV/AIDS PANDEMIC

Death Toll: 34 million

HONG KONG FLU PANDEMIC (1968)

Death Toll: 1 million

ASIAN FLU (1956-1958)

Death Toll: 2 million

So, we see that pestilence can kill millions with very little warning. And such diseases as HIV, Ebola, dengue, malaria and so forth are also killing their millions even at this moment. In totality, we can securely state that this prophecy of Jesus is being fulfilled even as we read these words. Simply watch the Five O-Clock News tonight.

5. Hatred

The bells are tolling on this one. Unfortunately, this human trait is a two-way street in many instances. Jesus makes it clear that we are to hate the sin, not the sinner. I know too many Christians filled with hatred for people outside the mainstream Christian categories of desired behavioral valuation. In this regard, we will experience some hatred that we or others have brought upon ourselves.

But, I believe Jesus was referring only to the fact we are hated for the same reasons he was hated. God's standards of intellectual morality and behavioral practices are absolute. The unsaved world prefers that these issues be addressed as situational.

Murder, for example, is generally unacceptable, but killing babies in the womb is okay. The Bible says drug addiction and witchcraft are unacceptable. Sexually deviant lifestyles are also frowned on, but most people now consider such trends to be normal and highly acceptable behavior.

How many pastors are hesitant to even push the concept of Hell and eternal punishment? It's illegal hate speech in some circumstances according to Canadian and certain U.S. laws. Bottom line, our Bible-based positions on these and other belief paradigms are becoming so severely offensive in the minds of the majority that Jesus says they will justify killing us in droves.

We're quickly reaching the point where the entire world mimics Sodom and Gomorrah (the practice of sodomy deriving its name from that latter city... the wickedness to which Jesus referred in Matt. 24:13). Indeed, we are now at that point!

6. Pretenders/False Prophets

Few people fathom the enormous presence of false beliefs and metaphysical practices embedding our 'modern' world. Watchman Fellowship built a reference index listing over 1,200 distinct religious organizations and belief systems, not counting the major world religions (including Christianity).

Upon reading short statements defining a mere handful of these indexed belief systems, my head swirled. It was as though I had crashed into a condensed pool of swarming Hollywood-style cartoon mythologies... each crazier than the one before. Take a look for yourself and test my reaction.

In the book, Loving God's Way!, Gary De Lashmutt and co-author Dennis McCallum list over 40 distinct cults and sects within Christianity itself. Given the prevalence and near-endless range of belief systems swirling about the world... what are young seekers to believe?. For many, it must seem a hopeless riddle... leaving them with sensualism and pursuit of personal purpose (humanism?) as the 'natural' response... simply living life as a feel-good matter of 'anything goes.'

Could Christ's warning of false belief systems get any more profound and imbedded than what we have today?

7. Gospel Preached to Whole World

"And the end will come." Christian television networks have played a major part in helping to ensure that the entire world is being reached with Christianity's message via radio (including short wave), television towers, satellites and mobile recording and playing devices. The last decade has seen a rapid growth of Christian broadcast networks well beyond just the United States.

Most recently, the internet communications phenomenon has completed the paradigm of realized personal contact. It is impossible to imagine any further communications systems/devices/applications than those existing today in terms of reaching every last human being We have more missionaries from more countries than at any time in prior human history daily using all of these informational tools.

What more is left to do in terms of carrying the Word to a waiting world? True, pockets of people, such as the Tarahumara (Raramuri) of the Sierra Madres, Mexico, have not yet heard the gospel. But, in all such cases, these groups have been identified and efforts are underway to bring them into Truth.

Jesus did not say everyone will be reached. He said The Gospel would be a testimony to all nations. If there are nations that legally reject the gospel (Muslim, Eastern Mysticism, etc.) and fail to expose their populace to the Christian belief system, that is on them, not on Jesus. God has been quoted as saying it is not His will that any should perish. That is far different than saying none will perish. A hard truth.

I see the minute hand ticking very near the High Noon deadline on God's Pre-Ordained Clock of World Forebearance Time. Do we have but seconds remaining? Considering all of the above... what say you?
